This project is an interview with the developer of the new indie game that you are interested in. This time, we will provide a mini-interlocking show to the developers ZaPling Bygone , alien Metroidvania, which was released on August 6 for PCs and PCs for PCs.

— First, please introduce yourself. What is your favorite game?

Stevie Hello! This is STEVIE, a solo developer of this work. She had been her favorite game since she was a child. It's like compatible with map generation tools and MODs. Speaking of games you can think of are Age of Mythology, Halo Forge and Terraria. Recently, online multiplayer games such as ESCAPE from Tarkov are often played, and creativity is for game development.

――Why did this work developed?

I worked in the Stevie online gambling industry, but she quit her job because she had lost her energy and motivation, and she started the development of this work. She was developing this work while fighting depression, and she helped her to work on the development.

STEVIE This work is a strange game. At that time, I was mentally confused, and this work would have been influenced by my feelings.

In this work, the player can obtain new abilities by stealing the enemy's skull, and operates an alien that absorbs enemy consciousness. This allows you to release the enemy's memory in a manga-like form. The skull sometimes talks to the player and tells you about the history of the planet.

――What kind of person do you want this work to play?

STEVIE This work is Metroidvania, so fans of this genre will enjoy it. Also, people who like to collect stories at their search elements and their own pace, and also enjoy unraveling the story.

— Is there any work influenced by this work?

Stevie Hollow Knight has been redefined modern metroidvania, and has been affected by this work a lot. Also, I love the world design of the first Dark Soul and try to connect the area in a similar way. The art style is influenced by Celeste.

――Do you plan to support this work? Is volunteer translation possible?

STEVIE In the future, I want to respond to Japanese at some time. To be honest, it depends on the current version of the sales. Localization costs money (in technical and translated parts), and transplantation for home game consoles is also planned, so it depends on how much the English version is sold.

――What had an impact on the development of the new Coronavirus?

STEVIE Yes, it was a good meaning. When I quit my previous job, I was originally planning to go on a trip to reset my life (I was going to Japan!). This was just before the spread of the new Corona, but it could not be executed because of the corona. I couldn't travel, so I started developing this work because there were some savings. The new Corona may be the reason why this work exists.
